About Oba
Oba is a neighbourhood immediately east of Alanya centre that has merged seamlessly with the city; at 3–4 km from the centre it feels not like a separate town but like Alanya's eastern extension. The Oba stretch of Keykubat Beach is long and sandy, and the seafront promenade and cycle lane behind it run all the way to Alanya harbour. The Oba stream divides the neighbourhood in two; north of it are Alanya's large shopping centres, hospitals and public offices. Many residents are foreigners settled here year round and local families.
Accommodation consists of medium and large hotels on the seafront and a great many apartments and rental flats; it is the most popular part of Alanya for long-stay guests who want city life. Typical guests are families wanting shops, hospitals and schools nearby, couples who like to walk into town in the evenings and expats spending the winter months. Alanya Castle, the Red Tower and Damlatas are within walking or short minibus distance; the Dim River is 10 minutes away.
From Gazipasa-Alanya airport the coast road through Mahmutlar and Kestel is about 42 km / 45 minutes, and Oba is the point reached before Alanya centre when coming from Gazipasa; from Antalya airport it is 130 km / around 2 hours 10 minutes on the D-400 through Alanya centre. The passage through Alanya is slow on summer evenings. As most apartments are on city streets, please give the full address and the name of the complex in advance; you are taken door to door. Kestel is 4 km away and Alanya centre 4 km.
Airport meet & greet
