About Faralya
Faralya is a small village south of Oludeniz, hundreds of metres above the sea, built on the edge of the cliff directly above Butterfly Valley. Its official name is Uzunyurt. The steep path with fixed ropes from the village down into the valley is for experienced walkers only; most visitors reach the valley by boat from Oludeniz. The Lycian Way runs right through the village.
Accommodation is small guesthouses with wooden bungalows, a few boutique hotels and villas with views; there is no beach, little choice of shops and no nightlife. People come for walking, yoga, the views and the quiet. Couples, solo walkers and small nature-focused groups are the majority; for families with small children the cliff edge and stepped terrain need care.
Flat as far as Fethiye, then after Oludeniz a narrow, winding and steep mountain road; about 72 km / 85 minutes in total. The road is surfaced but two cars pass with difficulty in places, and the drive takes longer at night. The car reaches the door of most guesthouses; at some, the last stretch is by steps. A saloon suits small groups, a minibus groups with luggage. Kabak is 10 minutes further on.
Airport meet & greet
After passport control and baggage claim, exit the international arrivals hall. Your driver waits right opposite the exit holding a sign with your name. We track your flight — if it is delayed, waiting is free.
