About Finike
Finike is a small district town where the Bey Mountains meet the sea, between Kumluca and Demre. The orange is its emblem; the surrounding plain is one continuous citrus orchard and an orange festival is held every year. Finike Marina on the seafront is a favourite wintering harbour for yachts, and the long pebble beach stretching east is where local people swim in summer. In the valley to the north lie ancient Limyra and its theatre, and on the mountain road the terraced ruins of Arykanda.
Accommodation is in town hotels, guesthouses around the marina and apartments along the shore; there are no big holiday villages. It suits families looking for a quiet coast away from the crowds, sailors arriving by yacht and anyone keen on ancient sites. Demre, Kekova, Adrasan bay and the Elmali plateau are all within day-trip range.
From Antalya Airport the route runs along the D400 coastal road via Kemer and Kumluca; it is mostly dual carriageway and takes about 137 km / 130 minutes. After Kumluca the road drops down to the plain and the winding section is short. Your driver takes you to the hotel or apartment door; for the marina the vehicle pulls up at the marina entrance. As it is a long drive, a minibus is recommended for larger groups. Kemer, Tekirova and the Adrasan turn-off are on the way, and Demre is 30 minutes further on.
