About Koycegiz
Köyceğiz is a quiet district town on the northern shore of the lake of the same name, shaped more by local life than by tourism. The lake is connected to the sea by the Dalyan channel, so its water is slightly brackish; the whole area lies within the Köyceğiz–Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area. The region is known for its forests of oriental sweetgum, a tree that grows in very few places in the world, and for the Sultaniye hot springs on the southern shore. The lakeside park, the palm-lined promenade and the tea gardens by the water are the centre of daily life.
Accommodation is in small hotels, guesthouses and rented houses by the lake; there are no large resorts. Boat trips on the lake, a meal beside the ice-cold water of the Yuvarlakçay stream, excursions up towards the plateaus of Mount Sandras and cycling are the most popular things to do. Couples wanting a quiet break, long-stay retirees, nature and birdwatching enthusiasts and spa visitors choose Köyceğiz; those after a beach go to Iztuzu at Dalyan.
From the airport it is a wide, flat dual carriageway via Ortaca towards Muğla; about 37 km / 35 minutes. The town has wide streets, lakeside houses and hotels are reached door to door and any vehicle type is suitable. The road to Sultaniye is a narrow village road around the lake, where a smaller vehicle is more comfortable. Dalyan is 25 minutes away, Marmaris 50 minutes and Akyaka 40 minutes.

For villas without a reception he comes to the door; please be ready 10 minutes before pickup. For international flights we suggest pickup about 2 h 35 min before departure, so you are at the airport 2 hours early.
