About Kusadasi

Kusadasi is a large resort town in north-western Aydin, set against the gulf of the same name. Pigeon Island, linked to the mainland by a causeway and topped by a Genoese castle, one of the Aegean’s busiest cruise ports, the old lanes of Kaleici with the Kervansaray, and Ladies Beach south of the centre are its best-known places. To the south begin the coves of the Dilek Peninsula–Buyuk Menderes Delta National Park, and ancient Ephesus is 20 minutes inland.

Accommodation suits every budget: large resort hotels at Ladies Beach and Yilanci Burnu, city hotels in the centre, and villas and apartments with views on the hillsides. Young guests after nightlife on Bar Street, culture travellers visiting Ephesus and Sirince, families wanting a hotel with an aquapark and cruise passengers spending a night before sailing are typical visitors. Selcuk is 20 minutes away, Davutlar 15 minutes, and Guzelcamli and the National Park 25 minutes.

Transfer note

From the airport you take the Izmir–Aydin motorway to Selcuk and then the dual carriageway via Pamucak to Kusadasi, about 70 km / 70 minutes. The road is flat without bends; on summer evenings the town entrance and the harbour area can be busy. Hotels are reached door to door; for cruise passengers the port terminal gate is the drop-off point. In the narrow lanes of Kaleici the driver pulls up on the nearest main street. A minibus or midibus suits larger groups. Selcuk and Pamucak lie on the way.
