About Ilica
Ilica is the thermal seaside quarter 5 km east of Cesme town, on the northern shore of the peninsula. It takes its name from the hot springs that bubble up inside the sea; the fine-sand, shallow Ilica Beach, the hot-water spots along the shore and the mud baths at Sifne are its best-known features. The avenue running along the beach, cafes that fill on summer evenings and the holiday complexes of Izmir families shape the look of the area. Cesme’s castle and marina and the lanes of Alacati are a few minutes away.
Accommodation includes some of Turkey’s best-known thermal hotels, aparthotels and guesthouses along the beach and villas inside holiday complexes. Couples after thermal pools and spas, families with children wanting a shallow sea, large families holidaying in the busy summer complexes and anyone who wants to walk down to the beach choose Ilica. Cesme town is 5 minutes away, Alacati 10 minutes, and the Boyalik and Sifne shores 5–10 minutes.
From the airport it is a flat and fast run along the Izmir–Cesme motorway, leaving at the Ilica junction, about 102 km / 100 minutes. On July and August weekends the single-lane beach avenue is slow and arrival can take a few minutes longer. Thermal hotels and complexes are reached door to door; keep the villa name and block number to hand for the security log at complex gates. A minibus-class vehicle suits large families. Cesme town and Alacati are further along the same route.
