About Pamucak
Pamucak is a stretch of coast 8 km west of Selcuk town, on the delta where the Kucuk Menderes river meets the sea. The wide beach running unbroken for about 4 km, the wetland behind it with birdwatching spots, the river mouth and the pine trees lining the shore define its character. There is no town or bazaar; compared with Selcuk it is an entirely sea-focused, quiet resort shore. The lower gate of ancient Ephesus is only a few kilometres inland.
Accommodation consists of large all-inclusive resort hotels along the beach and a few holiday complexes. Families wanting to combine a beach holiday with trips to Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary and Sirince, couples who do not want a busy holiday town and guests with children looking for wide sands choose Pamucak. Selcuk town and Ephesus are 10 minutes away, Kusadasi 15 minutes.
From the airport the Izmir–Aydin motorway leads to Selcuk; from the town you take the dual carriageway towards Kusadasi and turn down to the coast at the Pamucak junction, about 58 km / 60 minutes. The road is flat without bends, with only a short urban section through Selcuk. Resort hotels are reached at the lobby entrance. A minibus suits families with a lot of luggage. Selcuk and Ephesus lie on the way, and Kusadasi is further along the same coast road.
