About Kundu
Kundu is a tourism zone east of Antalya in the Aksu district, in effect a continuation of Lara, 18 km from Antalya centre. Unlike Lara there is little public beach or neighbourhood life here; the hotels are large and stand side by side, and the sand continues east with each hotel's own beach section as far as the point where the Aksu river meets the sea. The area was laid out as a planned tourism zone in the late 1990s and is today one of Antalya's densest resort strips. Ancient Perge and the Aksu market are just to the north.
Accommodation is almost entirely five-star all-inclusive resorts; there are no villas or guesthouses. Kundu suits families who want large pools and aquaparks inside the hotel, groups arriving for conferences and weddings, and anyone wanting to be very close to the airport. Lara is 5 minutes away, the Old Town 25 minutes, Perge 15 minutes and Aspendos 35 minutes.
Together with Lara, Kundu is the shortest transfer from the airport; heading south along Havaalani Caddesi it takes about 10 km / 15 minutes on a flat, wide road. As the resorts line a single coast road, your driver takes you to the hotel entrance; the walk between hotel gates can be long, so the full hotel name should be given. A saloon is enough for small groups, while a minivan or minibus is recommended for larger families. Lara lies to the west and Belek 25 minutes to the east.
