About Kemer
Kemer is a district town west of Antalya, built on a narrow coastal strip where the pine-covered Bey Mountains drop steeply to the sea. Liman Caddesi, the pedestrian street through the middle of town, is lined with cafes and shops; Kemer Marina at its end and Moonlight Beach beside it are the best-known spots. Mount Tahtali rises directly behind town, and the cable car to its 2,365 metre summit and the three harbours of ancient Phaselis below are the first choices for day visitors. The Monday market is lively.
Accommodation ranges from town hotels and apartments in the centre to large all-inclusive resorts along the coast. Kemer suits families wanting an active holiday, younger visitors looking for nightlife and groups planning hikes or jeep safaris. Goynuk Canyon, Ulupinar, Cirali and Olympos are 20–40 minutes away.
From Antalya Airport the route takes the city ring road and Konyaalti onto the D400 coastal road; after Beldibi the road runs between mountain and sea through a series of tunnels, about 54 km / 55 minutes. Traffic leaving Antalya can slow on summer evenings. Your driver takes you to the hotel or apartment door; the town centre has some one-way streets. A minibus is recommended for larger families and groups with plenty of luggage. Beldibi, Goynuk, Kiris and Camyuva are the neighbouring resorts along the road.
