About Titreyengol
Titreyengol is a resort area about 5 km east of Side, just west of the point where the Manavgat River meets the sea. It takes its name from the small Titreyen Gol, the 'trembling lake' just behind the shore, known for the way its surface ripples in the wind; with its walking path and cafes, the lake is considered the centre of the area. The Sorgun pine forest bounds it to the west and the river mouth to the east; the beach is wide and quieter than central Side. At the river mouth there are fish restaurants and boats running up to Manavgat.
Accommodation is in large all-inclusive resorts and mid-sized hotels around the lake; the village bazaar is small. It suits families wanting a calm holiday in natural surroundings, anyone looking for flat routes for walking and cycling, and couples who want to be near Side without its crowds. Ancient Side is 10 minutes by dolmus, central Manavgat 15 minutes and Manavgat Waterfall 20 minutes. For evening life, guests head to Side or Kumkoy.
From Antalya Airport to Titreyengol takes about 77 km / 75 minutes along the D400; after the Side junction, a turn-off leads down through the forest to the shore. Hotels are reached door to door, with resort entrances on the single road around the lake. A minivan or minibus-class vehicle is recommended for families and groups. Colakli, Kumkoy and Side lie along the way, with Sorgun and Kizilagac a little further on.
