About Torba
Torba is a sheltered bay on the north-east coast of the Bodrum peninsula, just north of Bodrum town. As the stretch of coast closest to the airport, it has the shortest transfer time on the peninsula. The bay is ringed by slopes of pine and olive; the sea is shallow, still and suitable for children. Along the shore road there is a small strip of beach, the village pier and fish restaurants, with large hotels with private beaches at either end of the bay. The village itself still consists of houses with gardens and holds a Wednesday market. Behind the hill, ancient Pedasa lies on a walking route.
Accommodation is mostly large all-inclusive resorts and five-star hotels with private beaches; the village also has apartments and villas with gardens. Families who want a holiday without leaving the hotel, people wanting a short transfer and couples who want to be near Bodrum's nightlife yet sleep quietly choose Torba. Bodrum centre, the castle and the marina are 15 minutes away, and the beach clubs of Turkbuku 10 minutes. Seasonal boat trips leave the bay for Bodrum and towards Didim.
From Milas-Bodrum Airport, Torba is reached by the airport road and the main Bodrum road to the Torba turn-off, then a short road down to the bay, about 30 km / 35 minutes; the road is dual carriageway and flat, and because it does not enter Bodrum town it is the route least affected by summer traffic. Resorts and hotels are reached door to door, with the vehicle pulling up at reception in the large establishments. Village lanes are narrow, so at villas the driver carries luggage if needed. A minibus-class vehicle is recommended for large families. Bodrum centre is 15 minutes away and Turkbuku 10 minutes.
