About Okurcalar
Okurcalar is a coastal village on the western edge of Alanya district, between Manavgat and Alanya town. It is about 35 km from Alanya centre and 30 km from Side, so it sits at an equal distance from both. The village consists of large hotels lined up between the D-400 highway and the sea; the shore is a mix of sand and shingle and the water deepens gradually in most places. The small centre has a supermarket, pharmacy and a few restaurants; the Alarahan caravanserai and Alara Castle are 10 km to the west.
Accommodation is almost entirely large all-inclusive resorts; apartments and villas are rare. It suits families and couples who want to holiday without leaving the hotel; those after nightlife and a bazaar should look at Alanya. Rafting on the Alara River, Manavgat Waterfall and the ancient city of Side are the nearby excursions, and buses run easily in both directions.
From Gazipasa-Alanya airport the coast road through Alanya town is about 80 km / 80 minutes; from Antalya airport it is 95 km / around 90 minutes, and since Okurcalar is the closest point of the Alanya area to Antalya, most guests arrive that way. The whole route is the D-400 highway, flat and without bends; it gets busy around Manavgat on summer evenings. Hotels stand right beside the highway, so you are taken door to door. Avsallar and Incekum are the neighbouring resorts 5–8 km to the east.
