About Turkler
Turkler is a coastal village 18 km west of Alanya centre, between Konakli and Avsallar. The settlement spreads on both sides of the D-400 highway, with the seaward side given over to large hotels; the beach is a mix of sand and shingle, and the water deepens a little faster than at Avsallar. North of the highway stretch banana greenhouses and orange groves, with the Taurus Mountains rising behind. The small centre has a market square, supermarket and restaurants; the big shopping centres and bazaar of Alanya are half an hour away by minibus.
Accommodation is mainly five-star all-inclusive resorts, some of them known for their own aquaparks. It suits families holidaying in the hotel, couples who want beach and pool all day and large groups; for nightlife and shops you go into Alanya. The Dim River, Alanya Castle, Sapadere Canyon and the Alarahan caravanserai are the main day trips.
From Gazipasa-Alanya airport the coast road through Alanya centre and Konakli is about 64 km / 65 minutes; from Antalya airport it is 108 km / around 105 minutes on the D-400. The road is entirely flat, as wide as a motorway and without bends; on summer evenings the passage through Alanya and Manavgat may slow down. Hotels stand beside the highway, so you are taken door to door, and the large hotels have wide forecourts and lobby entrances. Konakli is 6 km away and Avsallar 9 km.
